BA's premise is that all customers would follow along the price listings that they laid out so accordingly they can claim to be cheaper.
It ignores the fact that customers act in a rational manner and don't check in luggage, limit size of bags, check in at home, print boarding passes at home, obtain an electron card and don't eat and drink on the plane etc.
