I haven't independently verified the prices, but as happens elsewhere, the cheap start very cheap, get a reputation for cheap, but slowly increase prices, so unless you check every time, they end up more expensive without you really noticing.
They carry on for a while until eventually it becomes clear they're the most expensive, then the cycle starts again.
