Yes there is a bigger story to Mungerannie being closed. No, I am not going to elaborate as it reflects poorly on all concerned except the owners who finally decided that they had had enough.
It is a private airstrip and it does not receive public funding. It was getting very rough due to increased usage and the lack of rain which would have enabled it to be rolled.
The decision to close the strip was the owners and they are quite entitled to make that decision.
