Lake Eyre Filling Quickly?
Just an update for anyone planning a trip to Lake Eyre. I have just returned from a charter trip up there and it appears to be dropping just as quickly now. I was up there 5 weeks ago on another trip and there was a lot more coverage back then. From the Warbuton Creek there only seems to be a stream running from the Warbuton mouth down the western side to the lower part of the North Lake. I'd guess the levels may have only dropped by a few inches, but that amount is certianly enough to cover a large amount of the flatter areas.
To see any sign of bird life head north up the Warbuton Creek and in the lakes areas approx 30nm north to north east of the lake.
