Sorry? I don't understand this. Is the cost being saved that of the water, or the fuel required to lug a few litres of the stuff around? Has anyone involved come up with costings for the various alternatives?
Supermarket bottled water in the UK can be had for a few pence per litre. Any organisation using a reasonable amount of bottled water could undoubtedly get a good deal where the cost per bottle was negligable. At worst, you can always fill an old mineral water bottle with tap water at a location where you trust the supply, if you're that strapped for cash. (I don't bother with bottled water, as I've always found Thames Water Authority Premiere Cru perfectly palatable and I find the ecological cost of producing and distributing bottled water a bit silly. Overseas, however...)
Flying dehydrates, and I simply can't believe that crew comfort is really so low down on the list of priorities... is it that bad?
