Not sure about expenses but you are right about Ryanair. There's no flights between 16th July and 31st July, and then a limited service between PIK and BOH in August (flights 4 out of 7 days I think). However, the EDI-BOH service is still running as normal - probably cheaper for you to go to EDI than fly to Southampton!
