There was a JAT (Yugoslav - Serbian!) B727 lining up behind me on 27R yesterday midday. So it's not completely a figment of
t'aint natural's imagination!
At least with a 727 it is proper noise, not that really intensely irritating "buzz-saw" whine you get from the little airbuses - and the manufacturers say they are quiet!
777 are amazing for noise, they sail over my place in Twickenham with a low rumble - sound like they are just ticking over and they are carrying 3 times the pax as the whiney airbuses.
Strange but true........
