The passenger throughput figures are not frightening any longer. They are merely in line with what has been predicted for 2/3 years but the economic downturn has given everyone a ready made excuse to "downsize" and concentrate on the butter flights and airports rather than the bread. It has happened 2 years earlier than expected that is all.
I am not a believer in the conspiracy theories to close the airport but the more trade that is lost and the inaction of the main Peel Board to change the airport management does leave questions to be answered when the end finally comes.
