Don't make comments about landing characteristics of an a/c you have no command time in! The MD-11 has the highest FAA type rating failure rate, it must be flown precisely especially in the landing phase. Saudia would have been at max landing weight, vapp of 167 kts, try that on for size and throw in some wind and remember you're in Africa. We all screw up, but this machine can bite you HARD.
