With a lot of work planned for the airport in Oct '09 this year, as the boards outside of departures mention, perhaps some airside improvements will be made too?
Radars, software, flight planning upgrades, ILS, are all evolving, and I'm sure CWL are keeping up with the changes and looking to the future.
Ryanair use to land at CWL and even airports with top notch ILS still have diverts, it wasn't that long ago, we had 4/5 diverts into us from LHW (BA) because of weather difficulties at their end.
We maybe quieter at present but pax. still like using CWL and I, personally, look forward to all the forthcoming changes that are soon to happen here.
