These are long standing tax principles and laws, around which, Double Taxation Agreements (Treaties) have been put in place with dozens of countries. The changes should only affect persons who are residents of Australia for
taxation purposes only, but are working overseas, generally on short term assignments. Expats overseas for longer terms will generally be non-residents for tax purposes.
