Direct Operating Costs are divided into Variable and Fixed costs.
Without going into the details too much, fixed costs would include insurance, standing maintenance charges etc, whereas variable would include fuel and oil, airport handling charges etc.
However, I suspect that the breakdown for rotary costs is likely to be far more simplistic than for the airline world, and to a degree the terminolgy is not universally unified.
