Thanks. It's a Kaspersky 'issue'. Disconnect from network. Disable Kaspersky. Outlook Express Backup Wizard works fine.
I think the e-mail back-up (for me) is good value. Three or four clicks and everything on external hard drive. Beats the
very serious trauma of some years ago when I lost the lot.
