I was T-NE B/B CLN approaching the end of an afternoon shift when the Chippy flew from 'The Mechanics Arms' at Denham to Leigh-on-Sea and back. I was waiting for an HP7 to depart MC to BRA. I saw an unknown wiggly primary and for some reason phoned MC who weren't working it but could see the nav lights. I idly tracked him and watched him turn south at Maple Cross musing over the fact that it was late to have lights out at Denham. I heard the story on the radio the following morning so phoned the LL Sup (DA known as 'B.....') who asked me to submit a 1261. LL 'C' Watch ( HH and co) were on that night and asked the Police to investigate the unknown Chipmunk on the N. Side. The Police said that they couldn't find the Chipmunk so phoned the Tower to inform them they had passed the sighting on to the RSPCA......

Seems this guy had had 'a few' and 'borrowed' a familiar mount and, no, there were no lights at Denham. But they were on at Heathrow......
