It took me three years as a very active company council member in a large regional airline to finally realise that Balpa was a total waste of time and money.
It neither has the money nor the resources, nor the will to make any difference. And the bottom line is that unless you get the huge majority (By that I mean in excess of 80 percent) of colleagues to join AND actively support you then you are dead in the water anyway....a paper tiger.
Getting RA would be a headline grabbing coup but I can assure anyone thinking that it would make a difference....(apart from increasing Balpas revenue)......that it would not.
Look what happened with the BA Open Skies Fiasco...........Loads of hot air and self righteous table bashing. But when it came to it they had not got the money to fight the Leprechaun.
O Leary would bankrupt them at the first opportunity of a decent confrontation or they'd just scurry away saying how unfair he was........
