That's the point I was making.....It does not have much of a future as an airport unless the Council can loosen the terms of the lease or Sell it on for development.
It won't be easy though. There is a lot of pollution in the ground that will have to be cleaned up before anything major can be done.
I think the major problem for them is that they have hit the perfect storm..Airlines retrenching. LoCo taking a hit. Major dive in pax. No airlines interested in using a shack on the edge of the field. Freight demand dropping. Lack of investors. etc. etc.
As you say they could do with an attraction that could generate some cash and perhaps some traffic....
