There is a problem with the Palm M50x USB cradle and electrostatic discharge see the link below.
I've managed to "fry" mine and it will no longer hot sync using the usb connection. OK with IrDA
Palm will replace my unit at no charge (under a year old) but it takes over 3 weeks!!
