I went to OFT in 2000 and did the three week PPL. My major criticism is that the adverts at the time (not sure about now) mentioned classroom training, which is a load of crap. All seven PPL written exams need to be studied by yourself in the three weeks - or at least thats whats expected of you.
If you have queries then you can ask the instructors but don't expect to be taught in a structured way in the classroom. There was an instructor there when I was called Alex who was very good but sadly he has gone. A few guys had the good idea of studying and passing all ground exams before they went to OFT (you get all the books sent to you from Cabair as soon as you pay the deposit), so they could then concentrate on flying in the three weeks and play golf! I would have done it this way if I had known and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do this.
Other than the ground school everything else is good. Nice airport and Florida is an excellent place to fly - would recommend you pay the extra to fly the PA28 Warrior - nice and new and has GPS incase you get lost. I have good memories of when I was there and loved it, although I have never worked so hard in my life as in those three weeks (studying from scratch).
Good luck!
