Question

Why park the old airplane in outback Qld, when with a little thought, imagination, and care for others, the aircraft could be donated to the people of Afghanistan to help rebuild the poor country. (Assuming it is serviceable)

I am sure enough volunteer crew would be available to train the Afghan pilots and engineers.

If a relatively poor country like India can do it (see below) Surely Australia / Qantas can be just as generous.
