Most pilots would be rather shocked, I imagine, to find out just how little holds the vertical stab in place on many aircraft
Too bloody right!! It is a real eye opener when you see how that part of the airframe is designed and built!!
Goes to show how important the secondary structures/skin around the fin base are.....
