If it ain't broke don't fix it!
For AF/KLM to move such a specialized product to another handling agent would cause a lot of hassle getting it right with the new agents. The only reason would be huge financial savings to the airline.
I agree with BazzaB68. All airlines ‘shop around’ and just because they are talking with another handling agents doesn’t mean they will change handling agents. I know in the last 6-12 months or so ZB,CO, EI, PK, CY among others have all spoken with different agents but non of them have yet moved. It depends if AF/KLM value service or are they looking for a rock bottom price. With the current economic climate I do worry that price is the overriding factor in these decisions. Just look at monarch. Maybe they have just signed with swissport for 1 year, but was it just to fill the gap until this ‘4th’ handling agent arrives if the rumours are to be believed.
