Operated into MAN for the first time in quite a few years the other day. The weather was glorious, and it was a weekend. How nice to vacate 23R and be greeted by several hundred happily waving people (some in deck chairs).....
Took me back to the late 70's and as a kid spending time at STN usually on a Saturday watching going's on (not that the BAA ever laid on such a good spot to spot!). Ahhh, happy days!

Likewise, I remember being a kid on the other side of the taxiway wanting to over "there" now I'm over here, I'll never pass an opportunity to wave at anyone that wants to do likewise !
