It seems like Mahon and Montpellier are only operating for the summer months... These both end on the 19th September, so by these being stopped it frees the aircraft up to operate twice daily to Milan MXP.

Maybe(?), but there is demand there, and easyJet wants to take the opportunity to fill tis gap...

Ryanair has been successfully been operating to BGY from LTN for about 8yrs and was their first route they operated to using BGY aircraft fter Dublin. It is only this summer in all of 8yrs that the routes frequency has been dropped.

Ryanair seems to use LTN very much as an experimental base to tweek timetables and add additional capacity to other routes which are operated from STN.

London is not the only destination people are travelling to when they travel to or from LTN! I live up in Northamptonshire about 45 miles from the airport and it is still my "Local Airport", plus I can travel directly there on East Midlands Trains from Wellingborough and Kettering!
