If it is not the air supporting our weight are you suggesting that, in the extreme case, conventional flight in a vacuum is possible and that variations in air density are of no concern to aviators.



L is lift force,
ρ is air density
v is true airspeed
A is platform area, and
CL is the lift coefficient at the desired angle of attack

If p = 0, there is no lift.
