My dad, a WWII era instructor, had 3000 hours in dozens of singles over a 40-year span when he started moonlighting in a KingAir RH seat. On an early ferry flight he asked to do his usual slow flight & stalls familiarization, and concluded it was one of the more "honest" and forgiving aircraft he'd ever flown.
So - not to take anything away from the yeoman job Mr. Whiite did - he was lucky enough to be partnering with Beechcraft's handling qualities engineers.
