The issues associated with the 320 series are knowledge and training based, not design based.
With all respect I'd say the answer may be more complex than that. Obviously the designer has to include with the design sufficient operational training materials and tools to enable training of operators and crew, and of course Airbus have done that. But what about the case, for example, when you have a 6000 hr pilot transitioning from another brand of a/c who has to de-learn old ingrained procedures - is that addressed good enough in the training? Is it even possible to retrain someone so well as to
guarantee that his old habits don't surface when faced with a "situation"? Just asking...
