Many Moons ago we did a coach tour out of Auckland, NZ. ( Nice place BTW) After a couple of hours of "The British executed XX here" and/or "the English committed an atrocity here at XX" my temper finally gave way and I pointed out to the tour guide that, actually, the Brits had got rid of said Criminal Sir Fred Bloggs's grandfather 200 years ago by shipping him to New Zealand because he was a bad f**** and in fact the atrocity/crime being mentioned had been committed by one of the Fred Blogg's offsprings who by that stage a genuine Kiwi born and bred on........the coach ride got quiet after that..
We still get the blame for the fact that the Kiwis can't win the Rugby World Cup..but it's a small price to pay
