Were they landing and taking off at the many Fishead HLS on the Solent - in otherwords were they conducting VIP Tax (or I think the Dark Blue call SOOTAX or something?).
Maybe not practical (or unchievable) to take off and land at both locations and climb to 2000' - especially in the Sea King
