"That is certainly impressive for an airport handling 60-70 IFR movements a day. So its just one guy doing Ground,Tower,Approach, weather,Handling on one frequency? with an assisant. 30000 mvts for one guy is no big deal if alot is vfr."

Ok, just to clarify the picture. Below are the 2008 statistics (including low passes and overflights)

24643 Scheduled, nonscheduled flights (100 % IFR)
3665 Military, SAR etc. (25 % IFR)
5562 Others (general aviation) (10% IFR)

The usual working position setup is one ATCO and one ATCO assistant. We do approach, tower, ground (yup no ATIS). There is no handling frequency at Wroclaw.

The radar depicted on the chart provides data for the whole system (ACC mainly), however we do not provide radar control in Wroclaw. Only procedure.

Separation is mainly vertical. We do not have SIDs or STAR procedures but have a couple of separated arrival and departure routes.

Traffic complexity can be a challange (military training, local training by aviation schools, zone activity within TMA). Due to airspace classification IFR traffic has to leave the TMA at FL 100 or above. This in return causes delays for arriving traffic (late descent or descending in the hold). The sequence also has to be coordinated with area control very early to minimize delays. Sometimes (during heavy traffic) delays are quite severe (even 40min).

Any pilots reading this: sorry, we do our best (almost always...)

And again no ATIS, so there is a lot of transmitting involved

Any donations for a radar system are welcome

Regards,
