I am in full support of the extensive efforts of my represententatives (NZALPA
) over the last SIX MONTHS OR MORE to attempt to get Airways to take this new legislation seriously, particularly in the eleventh hour when the company had all but thrown in the towel...rest/meal breaks were never going to "go away" or be ignored and I am pleased that we have reps like JD and JT that voluntarily work selflessly on our behalf. Well done guys!!!
I am extremely disappointed (but not surprised) by the reactions of the media and our largest customer (AirNZ)...they should try and flesh out the real truth before talking publicly or bursting into print.
