Photo Software Recommendation Please

I've been using Kodak Easyshare Software since I took my first digital camera (a Kodak) out of its box, but find it a resources hog and a bit 'clunky' despite taking all the upgrades.

Can anyone please give me a personal recommendion for a better program from all the usual candidates which must be easy to use and simple to maintain. All I want to do is store and organise family pics (holidays etc) and get rid of 'redeye' - nothing more complicated than that.

I would like to trial any candidate software on my lappie (Dell Inspiron with loads of memory and Xp Home) with a view to transferring my pics across from the Easyshare on the family PC - a Dell Dimension also well endowed with memory and running Xp Home.

I don't mind paying!

Thank you
Cheers
