Its laughable the way some people think that the money that's been spent on the Vulcan would have magically been spent on other projects and we'd have an array of old aircraft flying around.
It just wouldn't have happened. There's no way the majority of the public would have given to any other aviation project imo.
With the issues of servicability, well she's not run by the RAF anymore. She's under a civil license now and the rules and regs have to be followed.
Sadly that means Marshalls have to sign off a lot of the work, and as we found last year, if they're not available, then she stays on the ground.
All we can hope for is better weather and keeping her as servicable as possible in 2009.
As for me, I'm just chuffed the Yanks haven't got her, and we'll see a Vulcan gracing the UK skies again this year!.
