Lovely as it is to have the continual unfulfilled promise of the Vulcan displays we remember from our youth dangled over us, along with an ever grasping outstretched hand, I can't help but wonder how many actual, flying, turn-up-to-all-the-airshows and do full-on air-displays-rather-than-stately-appearances aircraft of equal or greater significance could have been funded with even half what the Vulcan project has consumed. What it is now delivering isn't what we (I) paid for, and it is still hoovering up money, and still failing to meet reasonable expectations.
