Meanwhile figures announced by the Civil Aviation Authority show that passenger numbers at Durham Tees Valley fell by 12 per cent last year —in line with reductions at many other regional airports, including Newcastle. A total of 655,017 terminal and transit passengers flew from Durham Tees Valley in 2008 compared to 743,727 the previous year.
Interesting to note specific reference to NCL in looking for comfort / justification, perhaps they should use their own operations such as LPL as a benchmark. It would appear that at least something rattles them !
Given recent events then at this time the achievement of pax no.'s of anywhere near 650,000 for 2009 must appear pure fantasy !
