The DC-3 / C-47 with gear doors that I was familiar with was known as the McDermott mod, fully enclosed mains, retracting tail wheel, modified engine cowls with smaller frontal inlet, sometimes fixed cowl flaps, collector exhaust system with short stacks and deflector.
