Been a while since I read his biography (
ToweringQ - you still got it?) but didn't the Lady Southhern Cross have a massive piece of lead bolted to the engine firewall to fix the aft CofG created by the extra fuel tanks aft? Or was that one of Smithy's earlier aircraft?
