Pick up a copy of 'Whirlwind' by James Clavell. If you ignore, in the first half dozen pages, the sound of a Jet Ranger engine going 'putt putt putt' it's a great read. Very factual and well researched, the Tehran office Mr Fixit is called 'Hotshot' - and it's Fred Saraffian to a T.
Anyone who spent that time in Iran will recognise others.
