I always thought that the demise of Air Europe was a stitch up. In the Autumn before I had a 'social ' call from a friend who was then a lawyer in the City. He was under the impression that the airline was to have its financial 'plug pulled' in the Spring if they 'failed to get their act together' I thought it was odd information from an odd source and kept it to myself.
Lo and behold they duly went bust. Hmmm.
I suppose that everyone was too knackered by the event to launch a fight. If BA did play a hand then, ultimately it didn't do them any good.
I sigh, aviation is such a dirty business. Aviators are great but I wouldn't cross the road to spit at some of the 'men' who run the industry.
