Well, that is an amazing effort and I for one did not think it would happen. Well done to all those who made it happen because it was very much a "close run thing" and it ain't over yet. Naturally as an aviation enthusiast I'm very pleased but I do share the view of some posters here that this might (even "might" is probably not the correct word - "will" is probably more realistic) only be delaying the inevitable grounding of the mighty Vulcan. I have to confess that I have been very selfish and have not put a penny into the fund because my spare money goes towards restoring another icon - former Great Western Railway 2-8-0 locomotive 2807, so I'm clearly not that much of an aviation enthusiast and much more of a steam locomotive enthusiast but hey, that's my choice. Congratulations again to those folks who have stepped up to the Vulcan mark.
