I don't work for or even applied for BA so don't really know much about there recruitment process, but I am sure someone on PPRuNe has so they will I'm sure give you some more info.... but according to there eligibility section of there website:
To be eligible to join Cabin Crew, you will need:
- To be aged between 18 and 62 at the time of application
- To be between 5ft 2in and 6ft 2in in height, with weight in proportion
- To be physically fit
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- The right to live and work within the EU
- Previous customer service experience
- A valid E.U. passport allowing unrestricted worldwide travel
- To live within 45 minutes of the airport at which you are based (usually Heathrow or Gatwick).
- Are prepared to conform to all British Airways Uniform Standards, and have no normally visible tattoos or body piercings.
You may find you will be okay - some airlines make you sit a test to prove your competency.
With you being based in Surrey (depending whether its north or south) your in easy reach of Heathrow and Gatwick so have great opportunities at both airports.
At the moment, the aviation industry is suffering so not many are recruiting but I believe BMI may still have opening so might be worth a look.
