The very latest Hotmail format is dire in the extreme. Like many cheap and nasty websites (

) it now has a stupid flashing advert banner on the right hand side.....

However, what I
didn't know was that you can add your Hotmail address as an additional Outlook Express e-mail account.
Settings are:
Servers:
Incoming (POP3) pop3.live.com
Outgoing (SMTP) smtp.live.com
Incoming Mail Server Account Name and Password are the same as for your normal Hotmail.
'Log on using Secure Password Authentication' - do
not tick the box!
Outgoing Mail Server 'My server requires authentication' - tick the box.
Advanced:
Server Port Numbers:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) 587 'This server requires a secure connection' - tick the box.
Incoming Mail (POP3) 995 'This server requires a secure connection' - tick the box.
MUCH easier connecting to a public WLAN with your own computer and Outlook Express than farting about with MicroShaft's awful Hotmail website! All identified spam is held on the server, so you only receive mail passed to your inbox.
