Many years ago when the Reds flew Gnats, the syncro pair used to do an opposition Barrel Roll with the gear down, both aircraft touching down before and after the roll. On one occasion at Blackpool (?) one stalwart got it slightly wrong and in his own words:-
"After the actual roll and before the second touchdown, I realised I had got it wrong and I was going to hit the runway awfully hard, however after the 'landing' the aircraft was still flying so I finished the display. On shut down, the rear of the fuselage and the jet pipe were a fairly entertaing oval shape as opposed to the nice rounded finish Folland had intended":
