Having finally found drawings for the 153, 154 and 155 which all appear to be prop aircraft I am really at a loss. There is reference to a 155A variant being jet powered, but the basic VEB-155 bears little similarity to the drawing. Maybe this was an earlier design for the ill-fated VEB-152?? Having said that the nose looks a little like the original blunt nose on the IL-18 prototype which makes me wonder if this was a VEB inspired variant of that, bearing in mind their close association with the IL-14.
