As per the AIP, you don't need to prompt ATC. It's simply "Brisbane/Melbourne Centre, ABC, King Air, IFR, POB 3, taxiing Emerald for Brisbane, Runway XX".

I don't give the 'heads up' call as mentioned, and have never had a problem in doing so. But for those who feel the need to do so...
And Dragun.. yes I am aware the IFR isn't IMC. Just being a bit facetious about the mentioned radio call... which as mentioned, I don't think is necessary.
Some of us were raised on simple country air where things happen a little slower and the well placed aghhh is there to stop the clashing between words and saying things we don’t mean or have no meaning at all.
Have a think before you hit the button and we won't have to clog up the airways with superfluous rubbish.
