well first off, I did say Up To 14hrs and in winter ( the only time we use heavy crew on that sector) it can easily be a 13hr plus flight.
yes 16 crew in the back, 12 is normal operation and in order to let everyone have 3 hours rest, the return complement is increased by 4.
for commercial purposes QA require a certain min crew to be awake and active in the pax cabin for in flight pax service and comfort.
agree or not white night.. winter return crew for KIX-DOH is 20. and yes it take a long time to get here.
if I'm not mistaken I believe EK services KIX with a B777 not a Airbus, that would make allot of difference in time due to the vast difference in cruz Mach.
