Several years ago the tour operators increased flights from Edinburgh, which were very low compared to Glasgow, as many people from Edinburgh were complaining -why do we have to travel to Glasgow? The local newspaper said that now was the time to book from Edinburgh, in other words use it or lose it. The result was that Edinburgh people used the flights and Edinburgh has never looked back, granted the low cost operators greatly helped the passenger numbers. I notice that something similar is happening at LBA, and that the great number of Yorkshire people using MAN is being pulled back somewhat with the success of Jet2 and TCX. Is there a lesson for the people of Teesside?
