Oh look. Nice sunny day here at Heathrow (4th). But no sign of any BAA staff removing any of the remaining snow on stands or taxiways. And oh look what has just happened..............A Virgin 747 being towed onto stand has had its tug jack knife on the ice causing damage to the nose wheels and torque link. This is a live taxiway (now blocked) which should be ice free. Perhaps the sun was too bright for the BAA to notice it? Does anyone inspect stands and taxiways here? Seems not.
I am sorry but incidents like this costs thousands and is down to pure negligence by the airport operator.
Cant use the "staff couldnt get into work" excuse this time.
Any BAA comments??? Be interesting to hear.
