The
ASUS 901 Eee PC looks fine.
Make sure you get the one with windoze and bluetooth; the spec may differ - e.g.
this one.
That will then do everything you will ever need flying-wise.
Linux is a dead end in this context.
With bluetooth, you can even link it with
this and get weather / SMS when airborne (it works too)
