According to a
press release from Diamond, EASA have issued a
Type Certificate for their Austro diesel engine, and they are now installing it on new DA42s - which must be good news for them.
Given that Exxon are
refusing to refuel DA42s in the USA, I wonder what will be the effect of this note in the TC:
"The E4 engine is approved for operation with jet fuels. A minimum cetane number of 37 (determined according EN ISO 5165/ASTM D613) is recommended."
Is that information readily available, when you buy Jet A?
