One particular aircraft I flew had:
No tacho clocks installed
Airswitch clock U/S
No engine vdo clock installed
Owner wanted us to use some very conservative standard times for runs to height. From my own time sheets I calculated he was saving (cheating) about 10 to 15 % on his maintenance times.
